Yoga feels like home to Melissa. On her mat she finds love, truth, freedom, peace and balance. After 16 years working in healthcare, Melissa felt stifled and unfulfilled in her position as a nurse practicing and teaching Western medicine. Traumatic life events left her physically and emotionally exhausted. She chose to listen to her body, seeking a natural, holistic approach to health and wellness. She tried yoga in the past and decided to give it another chance.
Melissa returned to her mat with an open heart and surrendered to her practice. She experienced a nurturing and healing of mind, body and spirit. The physical and ethical practice of yoga along with natural whole foods has become a way of life that nourishes, inspires and energizes her.
Seva means “service” in Sanskrit. Melissa serves by sharing yoga and her life experiences with her students so they may know their truth, see their beauty, find balance and heal their pain. Melissa’s classes are grounding, uplifting, calming, energizing, fun and spiritual.
Melissa completed her CYT 200 teacher training at Cleveland Yoga. She is also a Licensed Practical Nurse, NETA Certified Personal Trainer and AASDN Nutrition Specialist. She has hosted motivational workshops in the Cleveland area.
Melissa is grateful for her husband and two teenage children who love unconditionally and allow her to shine in her authenticity. She is inspired by her teachers: Marni Task, Laura Larosa, Parker Bean, JoAnne Aboussouan, Tami Schneider, Sean Connelly, Girish Cruden, Johnny Kest, Bill Prysock, the yogi’s practicing along side of her, the sounds of nature, the human spirit, her garden, music and art.
